I was able to scan pages 969 through 1,110 (Zechariah 8:23 through Luke 14:14). That’s ten pages per day (on average). The reason I’m only able to do that much is that it uses anywhere from 20-70% of my session tokens just to do those ten pages. I’ve made the process as expedient as I can, but those are the limits. At that I’m on schedule to finish this initial work by mid September. (Check on https://scofieldbible.org/ for updates)

As we moved from the Old Testament to the New testament, Claude had some trouble managing the input data, and we went from being able to do as many as 50 chapters a day, to barely 50 to 10. We are currently on 1 Timothy and should be able to finish within a week or so. I hope to, once this initial work is finished, add an interlinear version.

This is still very much in the initial development phase. I have much of the design finished, and the basic functionality, but in order to make it of wide use, I need to anticipate what site owners will need. It uses Themes (for that part of the site) and Styles (for the passage display) and this past two weeks we’ve been working on Plugins, and Versions (which has to be different from plugins). We have developed out own Plugin language we’re calling CBS (CodeBase Sheets with the extension .cbs) that will allow control without compromising site security. It will have no raw coding, only what limited is allowed via the CBS processor.
We had a long back and forth between me and Claude about using json verses the database. Initially we were using the KJV in json, but in order to add Versions, they needed to be installed in the database. We finally arrived at a compromise to use the static data at BibleEngine.org as the backup for KJV and AKJV as a safety measure if the user’s site’s database ever went down.
WordPress to ClassicPress
I have several ministry sites that ran on WordPress, but during the time I was developing virtualBible.org (a WordPress plugin) apparently some volunteer took offense at a Bible plugin, and banned me, completely, from ever submitting a plugin to WordPress. So, this past week I migrated all my WordPress sites over to ClassicPress (a fork of WordPress that solves a lot of the garbage WordPress has been saddled with lately). It went most4e4ly smoothly, but I had to use Claude to modify a few plugins, themes and create a plugin that added some features some of the themes needed.

I attempted to add ASP to osBible, so the list of basic Bible scripts could be used there, but it was too much of a headache, especially given how few web servers are actually using it. I was able to add Node, and plan to add Ruby and maybe Java later. The purpose of osBible is to offer basic Bible usage scripts in various languages for people who want to build their own Bible web site.
